He didn’t want any of this. Not ever. Jonghyun was feeling pretty wasted, actually, and started to think about his current predicament. He was drinking at a bar, on top of the severely drunk human he just ate. Onew and Minho were still out doing whatever, which suited him fine for the moment. Normally he would try to mock Onew or defend Minho, somewhat, but tonight he just didn’t care.

This bond thing was more important right now. On one hand it would be better if they didn’t have a semi-internet-famous human hanging around, especially one as troublesome as Sayu. On the other hand, he was starting to believe her death would truly be something he’d not want to come to pass. He might miss her.

In fact, with his dazed introspection, he did kind of miss her. He fixed his bangs out of habit after he finished his drink, slamming the glass on the bar just to make a loud noise. Annoying, this whole thing was too annoying. Why any vampire would do this on purpose was beyond him and even if he wanted something like this he definitely wouldn’t have picked that human over, say, someone sexier or without so many damn character flaws.

It was nice she was shorter than him though, he had to admit. Someone sat next to him and he could smell the blood after a second of registering. He lazily glanced to his side and saw Jessica staring at him. He rolled his eyes, why did all these women have to have “that staring problem?”

She smirked and tilted her head a little, “How’s your bonded doing? I heard she had a rough time recently.” Her usual elegance sat on top of the bar stool and she flicked her long, blond hair back over her shoulder. She laughed slightly when Jonghyun stared at her for far too long without saying anything. “Oh come on, do you really think that whole thing was just an accident? And yesterday, man I wanted more to have happened but Hiyori told me it wasn’t any fun after she passed out. You’re going to have a lot of work to do to-“

“Figures,” he muttered and waved to the bartender to refill his glass. He wasn’t looking at her anymore but he could just imagine that shit-eating grin. She was loving this. And if what she said was true, it was all her doing. And she was successfully making his life even more hell than it was and he was getting pissed that she was winning. “What happened to just trying to kill me?”

“You know it’s far better to torture your enemy before truly dealing a blow. Or wait, no you don’t do that. You just go for the kill, right?” Jessica sounded more attitude than amused now, and as he glanced over, she was also staring death at him. “So how is she?”

Jonghyun looked confused, really there was no way of really answering that question, they hadn’t done anything. He wanted to, honestly why wouldn’t he, but he was afraid of what would happen. How much closer would they get. Would it be like with Onew and would she suffer like he did when he was human. When he thought about her, he felt scared, not terror but nervous and uneasy and frightened.

He stood up and glared at her, asking in as much a threatening way when so drunk, “What did you do?”
