Well well, it's Thursday morning - I have to go and give a 2 hour lecture on "Bakhtin & The Carnivalesque" in an hour, then I go home and nervously double-check everything before heading to the airport for the contest.

Well, the Asia-Pacific Outgames Human Rights Conference is over - and unlike so many conferences, this one has been a zinger.

There were people of a huge variety of human sexual and gender identities attending, from Nepal to Argentina, Hawaii to South Korea, Malaysia to Vanuatu, and some incredible personal stories coming out that fed into the ( Read more... )

The earthquake in Christchurch is truly terrible - everyone I know seems fine, apart from one elderly relative I'm waiting to hear about  but he lives in an area that wasn't too badly affected, so fingers crossed for him.

But the city looks like a war zone, and there are some really awful stories coming out.

I feel a little plain today - it was a busy weekend. I stayed home Friday night, had the usual brunch with Kerry and Big Gay David on Saturday - I like our routine, mearly every weekend of the year we catch up, the thre of us, sometimes with others, but we are the group, and we chat about life, work, love, men, everything. I guess I just don't have the time or inclination for posting here as much as I used to. I do tend to come in 2 or 3 times a week and see what you others are up to though. I feel a bit like a voyeur, reading your journals and not saying much.

That would be me. My mood this week has been all over the place. While I don't believe we "create our reality by what we think" I do know  the way I perceive my world can be shifted by the mood I am in, and at times I just have to remind myself "You are in a very bad head-space today - wait before acting"

Oh for a calm and uncluttered life.
