Monday Morning

I feel a little plain today - it was a busy weekend. I stayed home Friday night, had the usual brunch with Kerry and Big Gay David on Saturday - I like our routine, mearly every weekend of the year we catch up, the thre of us, sometimes with others, but we are the group, and we chat about life, work, love, men, everything. We've been doing this for years now - it's something I value.

Saturday night I went up to Urge (just for a change), and it was packed. Bear Week started yesterday, and Saturday was the per=Bear Week party. Men in from Australia, one from the UK, some from the US - it's nice to see it's getting bigger.

A very hot 29 year-old picked me up. He picked me up about this time last summer too - and hasn't been back to Urge since - i wonder if thre's a causal link? He's hot, and very nice too. He stayed the night, and I gave him a ride to the Big Gay Out, or annual picnic in the park. It was great, at least 10,000 there - a beautiful sunny day, I was happy just wandering around in my slightly buzzed state. Dropping in on friends' picnics, stopping for a beer and chat in the Urge tent, catching up with friends who dn't go out anymore - all very pleasant - just the right way to spend a summer's day.

Lots of different politicians in attendance including the PM. I odn't konw why (apart from power) so many gays fawn over him.He doesn't support gay marriage or adoption, he's a cold calculating vote-catching machine with the ethics of pond-scum.

I was pleasantly toasted under a tree somewhere when he did his thing so missed him. Four friends got a ride back home with me, drank all my beer on my back porch before I threw them out and crashed.

And now I've started the day with some writing - as I mean to go on.
