Chapter Thirteen
“Bastard!!”
Ryo fell to the floor after the big hit, clearly shocked of a unexpected morning call like that. “What the fuck are you doing!!” he snapped, suddenly awake.
“NOOOOOOOO!” cried Uchi, when he realize that Ryo is fighting back. He doesn’t want this.
They can’t have fight here.
“What do you think you’re doing?” said Yamapi angrily. He hated the facts that this man is still in here, and sleeping next to Uchi and he just couldn’t help to notice that he’s naked.
“Damn..” sighed Ryo when he wiped his injured lip, he got up and hit Yamapi back until they’re both on the floor trying to pin each other down. “What the fuck are you doing?!! Are you mad?!!”
Both man seem to be an equal match to each other, the sound of frequently hitting is unbearable to Uchi. He asked them to stop, because they’re really hurting each other. And it was Yamapi who started first, Nishikido-kun has no idea.
“Yamashita-kun!!!!” screamed Uchi desperately. He tried to get between them, he grabbed
Yamapi’s arm but quickly got shoved away. “Please stop!!”
Uchi saw his brothers are awake because of the sudden loud sound from the two. They are afraid of the two grown man who makes the room a bit messy because of their fight. Ryutaro, the youngest one was crying, he’s terrified. And Uchi noticed the same look on Yuto’s face.
Uchi saw that, he can’t let this happened any longer. So he forced himself once more to try to meddle between Yamapi and Ryo, even though he might get hurt, but he has to do this..
Otherwise this would probably end up badly. His brothers don’t deserve to see this.
“Yamashita-kun, stop it!!” shouted Uchi as he finally managed to pulled Yamapi’s hand and get his attention, and even though the two man still cursing each other, finally Uchi could dragged Yamapi out from the living room to the small yard behind the apartment.
“What is wrong with you! You can’t just walked in and hit people just like that!” said Uchi impatiently. He grabbed tight on Yamapi’s hand.
“And you just randomly let people staying over in your house? What is he doing in there!” asked Yamapi still with mad tone and sounded more upset. “That guy.. And you.. I just hate it!”
“I can’t accept this in my house! With my brother in the same room, he was crying! How could you do this?! Nishikido-kun is a good guy!” defend Uchi. He started to get angry with Yamapi right now.
“I didn’t know you like him that much..Why don’t you just go out with him! What were you guys doing?” said Yamapi boldly.
“Yes, I like him very much! He’s my friend, he wouldn’t do something to hurt me.. Just like what you did right now!” cried Uchi. He stare at Yamapi with disbelieve look.
“I’m hurting you? I‘m hurting you?” asked Yamapi heatedly. He can’t hold it anymore, he was that angry and Uchi’s attitude towards him right now sure isn’t making it any better. “I just don’t want to see you with any other guy!!!”
“We did nothing! He was just sleeping over!”
“How could I believe that?! When he’s sleeping in your futon..”
“Nothing happened!” cried Uchi again, he almost lost it. He’s trying hard not to cry.
“Well that is hard to believe, coming for someone who would sleep with others for money!” said Yamapi.
Uchi bit his lip when he heard Yamapi said that.
SLAP!
Uchi doubted what he just did. His right hand is still in the air, he had just slapped Yamapi.
“Who are you to talk to?! Who are you to me?!” said Uchi to Yamapi. He could feel his voice were trembling.
“…”
“YOU’RE NOT EVEN MY BOYFRIEND!” screamed Uchi.
Yamapi couldn’t deny that it hurts hearing that. But It’s true, he is not even Uchi’s boyfriend. But he acted this far. Why did he do that?
“JUST LEAVE NOW!”shouted Uchi.
But, no matter how much it’s hurting him, he hurts Uchi more than that.
They’re just staring at each other for a while, nobody said anything anymore. They’ve said and do bad things to each other and now it just not going to work anymore. Uchi saw Yamapi’s disappointed look on his face before turning around, leaving him, leaving his house.
The moment Yamapi turn his back on Uchi, Uchi could feel his eyes were wet and warm.
Why did it end up this way?

Uchi walked slowly inside the room again. Ryo was sitting there, with Ryutaro by his side sleeping. And Yuto was helping Ryo with his wound. Uchi sat beside the sleeping Ryutaro, touching his little brother’s head again like he used to. He could still remember Ryutaro’s terrified face.
Ryo saw Uchi’s face was red and looked like he was just crying.
“What happened?” he slowly asked.
“I don’t know..” but when answering that suddenly Uchi’s tears fell again. “I don’t know what just happened.. It all happened so fast.. And he’s.. I told him to leave.. I just..”
Ryo could tell that Uchi was deeply hurt. “I’m sorry, Uchi.. I shouldn’t have stayed over.. And I shouldn’t have moved to your futon when I saw it was empty.. I thought you’re already awake.. I’m stupid..”
“No, Nishikido-kun.. I’m the one who feel bad.. I’m sorry that he hit you like that! And look at you, now you’re hurt..”
“It’s nothing, just a small cut.. I barely feel it.. I wouldn’t get this if I was conscious in the first place.. But, he got hit by two person anyway.. Sorry, couldn’t help to hear the sound..” said Ryo with a bitter smile.
Uchi wanted to reply his smile, but it just reminds Uchi more that he just slapped Yamapi.
“I didn’t know why he reacts like that… I wish everything would just go back and never happened.. Why am I crying over him? Why did he do that?”
Ryo patted slowly on Uchi’s shoulder. The younger boy was just curled up hugging his knees looking lost. Ryo sighed, but looks like he got something to say.
“Well, as much as I hated that guy’s guts.. But, probably I understand why he’s acting like that..” said Ryo.
“Eh?”
“If I’m in his position, I would’ve done the same..”
“What are you talking about?” asked Uchi.
Ryo just smiled. “We just wants to protect what is precious to us.. right?”

Ryo was already on his way back, it was about 5 am in the morning. The storm had stopped and because of what happened before, Ryo shouldn’t stay any longer in Uchi’s house. He knew right now Uchi needs time to be alone.
He said goodbye and thank you to Uchi before leaving. “Sorry for everthing, Uchi.. And thank you, because of you I found the present for Tegoshi.. See you tonight..” said Ryo.
Uchi nodded.
“If you don’t know how to get there, I could pick you up..”
“Thank you, Nishikido-kun.. But I don’t know if I’m going to Tegoshi’s birthday.. I don’t feel like going anywhere today..” said Uchi slowly.
“Well.. If you changed your mind.. Just give me a call..” said Ryo before leaving the apartment.
“Nee, Nishikido-kun..” called Uchi again.
“Yes?”
“Please.. don’t kill him..”
Ryo smiled a bit. He understands Uchi’s words just now. Even though nobody knew Ryo works for the Yakuza, but Uchi recognized that Ryo does dangerous things and probably hold a grudge against Yamapi for what Yamapi did to him earlier.
“Don’t worry.. I don’t involved personal thing with my job..”

Ryo wanted to go home. But he doesn’t know how he end up in Okada Residents that morning. He actually got room for him in there, he should’ve just went straight to bed. But instead, he went upstairs.
He opened the door lightly, trying not to make any sound. He just wants to see him.
The room was dark, looks like the owner of the room was sleeping on the bed. Ryo felt it was enough just to know that he’s at home and safe. Ryo was about to leave.
“Ryo.. is that you..” said a sleepy voice from inside the room.
“Yes.. It’s me, Tegoshi..”
“Hmm.. I always know if it’s you, ne.. Come in..” said Tegoshi slowly.
Ryo walked inside the room, closing the door. He could get the clear view on Tegoshi right now from where he’s standing. Tegoshi was sleeping turning his body to the right, he hasn’t even opened his eyes yet. Ryo was impressed that without even looking Tegoshi could noticed that its him.
“Why are you here.. Isn’t it still early?” asked Tegoshi, still not moving on the bed.
“Well last night there’s a storm outside.. And I haven’t hear a single news from you.. So I just want to check up on you.. See if you alright..”
“I’m not afraid of the thunders, you know..” protest Tegoshi. Ryo knew if Tegoshi wasn’t sleepy that protest could’ve gone louder.
Ryo laughed a bit. “Oh sorry.. maybe thunders are not as scary as cockroach, poverty, swimming, and spicy food..” said Ryo pointing on all Tegoshi’s weakness.
“Shut up.. Why are you teasing me this early.. I would’ve thought of something to get back at you if I wasn’t this sleepy..” Tegoshi lazily threw a pillow to where Ryo was standing, but with no strength at all.
Ryo walked closer bringing the pillow back and sat on the chair beside the bed. “Tegoshi..”
“Nn?”
“Nothing.. I’ll let you sleep some more, sorry to disturb you..”
Ryo was about to take his leave when suddenly he noticed that there were a glass of water and medicines on the table. Was Tegoshi sick?
“Tegoshi.. Why is this here?”
“Oh.. Last night I was also stuck in traffic, but Kame-chan and I were riding on his motorcycle.. So we kind of get soaked..”
“You what?” said Ryo concerned.
“I felt kind of dizzy so I took a medicine last night.. But it think I’m fine now..”
“You could get sick.. You should’ve call me, I would come right away when it starts
raining.. Please remember that, don’t get soaked again, Tegoshi..” said Ryo worriedly.
“Hmm.. Yea..”
“Now it’s better if you rest again, go to sleep..” said Ryo. “If it gone worse then I’ll take you to see the doctors in the morning..”
“Hmm.. Yea.. Whatever..” mumbled Tegoshi.
Ryo sighed, he was angry at himself for letting Tegoshi get sick like this, but was just too relieved that he’s okay and in bed. Ryo will definitely kill that Kame-chan, again, only in his head.
“Call me if you need anything..” said Ryo as he covers Tegoshi’s body more with the blankets. Tegoshi doesn’t seem to give a respond on what Ryo just said, so Ryo makes sure that Tegoshi’s cellphone is near where Tegoshi is sleeping. So that he could make a call if anything happens.
“Ryo..”
“Yes?”
“Are you going now?”
“Yes.. I’m going back to my room..”
“Don’t go.. Stay here..” said Tegoshi suddenly.
“…”
“Even the storm is gone.. Now that you’re here I don’t feel like being alone anymore..”
“But Tegoshi..”
“Just do what I told you.. I still want to sleep some more, and if you keep talking I’m going to get angry yo..”
Ryo stared at him, even at times like this Tegoshi is still so selfish.
“Okay, I’ll stay right here..” said Ryo, he sat back on the chair beside the bed.
“Hmm no.. Here..” said Tegoshi, he patted on an empty space beside him. Finally he opened his eyes a little bit. “Sleep here..”
“…”
“Please..”
“Okay..”

“Nii-chan..”
Uchi was seating near the balcony. Leaning his body to the wall. Uchi turn his head to his side. Ryutaro was sitting next to him, holding his hand. “Yes, Ryuu?”
“Nii-chan, why are you crying?”
“I’m not..” Uchi lied.
“Nii-chan.. You, now.. You never cried before.. You never cry, right?” said Ryutaro.
Suddenly Ryutaro’s word was stabbing to Uchi, he realized something. He may look fragile in the outside, but he’s not the type that could cry easily. He used to just keep his emotion to himself. But.. Lately, he’s been crying.. He’s been crying..
“Something like this.. Could only be done with the one you love.. Other than that, just like you said before.. It doesn’t mean anything.. Worthless..”
“I really hate people who would do anything just for money!” said Yamapi furiously before leaving the room, leaving Uchi alone there. When Yamapi walked out that door, Uchi felt like he can’t hold it anymore so he cried alone.
(Bittersweet Chapter 7)

Uchi wiped his eyes with his thin sleeves.
Then he felt suddenly there’s a shoulder to cry on. Because his face was already buried inside Yamapi’s embrace. Somehow it’s letting Uchi’s face hide in there because he was crying. And it felt nice, and safe. He was tense with all these burden and pressure that he’s carrying alone.
“Thank.. you for… helping me..” said Uchi again.

He’s been crying a lot.. And a lot of it has something to do with him..
“Right now ne.. Ryuu, Nii-chan is really sad.. So it’s okay, ne.. If Nii-chan is crying right now..” said Uchi to his brother, he could bet that his face looks awful right now, because he’s saying that as he starts wiping his cheeks again.
“It’s okay, Nii-chan.. Ryuu will protect, Nii-chan..”
How wonderful it sounds.. The feeling of being protected..
“We just wants to protect what is precious to us.. right?”

Ryo walked to the other side of the bed. Slowly took off his jacket and get on the bed. Carefully to still keep the distance between him and Tegoshi, keeping it not too close.
Tegoshi was actually so far away from where he’s lying. But the other boy didn’t seem to complain, so Ryo take it as an approval.
“Night..” said Tegoshi.
“Night..” replied Ryo, even though it already 5.30 in the morning.
Ryo was only closing his eyes for a moment, then he felt something and suddenly Tegoshi was already beside him and clinging on to him. His head are rested freely on Ryo’s chest as if they were just cuddling. Ryo unconsciously held his breath when that happened. His heart is beating fast again.
He even could smell the soft scent of Tegoshi’s hair.
“Ne.. Ryo..”
“Y-Yes?”
“Why are you so caring about me..?” aske Tegoshi sleepy voice.
“…..”
“I thought,, You see me as a total brat.. Like you used to say to me all the time..
Everytime we’re fighting.. I’m loud, I’m selfish, I’m annoying.. I thought you always see me as a total brat..”
Ryo was silent for a moment. He didn’t expect Tegoshi to be this vulnerable right now, it’s so not like him. He could get the feeling that Tegoshi was so comfortable being here because he kept moving his head on Ryo’s chest. Until he finally finds the right spot near Ryo’s neck.
Ryo couldn’t help it. He knew it would be too obvious to do this, but they’ve slept together before, so what the hell. Ryo slowly moved his hand around Tegoshi, wrapping it around
Tegoshi’s shoulder. Locking Tegoshi in his arms.
“You’re not a brat.. You just acts like one.. There’s a difference…”
“Hmm..” Tegoshi smiled shyly, before closing his eyes once more.
“Come on, You should go to sleep..” said Ryo, a bit embarrassed of himself.
Tegoshi nodded.
“Oh, one more thing, Tegoshi…”
“Nani..”

raining.. Please remember that, don’t get soaked again, Tegoshi..” said Ryo worriedly.
“Hmm.. Yea..”
“Now it’s better if you rest again, go to sleep..” said Ryo. “If it gone worse then I’ll take you to see the doctors in the morning..”
“Hmm.. Yea.. Whatever..” mumbled Tegoshi.
Ryo sighed, he was angry at himself for letting Tegoshi get sick like this, but was just too relieved that he’s okay and in bed. Ryo will definitely kill that Kame-chan, again, only in his head.
“Call me if you need anything..” said Ryo as he covers Tegoshi’s body more with the blankets. Tegoshi doesn’t seem to give a respond on what Ryo just said, so Ryo makes sure that Tegoshi’s cellphone is near where Tegoshi is sleeping. So that he could make a call if anything happens.
“Ryo..”
“Yes?”
“Are you going now?”
“Yes.. I’m going back to my room..”
“Don’t go.. Stay here..” said Tegoshi suddenly.
“…”
“Even the storm is gone.. Now that you’re here I don’t feel like being alone anymore..”
“But Tegoshi..”
“Just do what I told you.. I still want to sleep some more, and if you keep talking I’m going to get angry yo..”
Ryo stared at him, even at times like this Tegoshi is still so selfish.
“Okay, I’ll stay right here..” said Ryo, he sat back on the chair beside the bed.
“Hmm no.. Here..” said Tegoshi, he patted on an empty space beside him. Finally he opened his eyes a little bit. “Sleep here..”
“…”
“Please..”
“Okay..”

Uchi was seating near the balcony. Leaning his body to the wall. Uchi turn his head to his side. Ryutaro was sitting next to him, holding his hand. “Yes, Ryuu?”
“Nii-chan, why are you crying?”
“I’m not..” Uchi lied.
“Nii-chan.. You, now.. You never cried before.. You never cry, right?” said Ryutaro.
Suddenly Ryutaro’s word was stabbing to Uchi, he realized something. He may look fragile in the outside, but he’s not the type that could cry easily. He used to just keep his emotion to himself. But.. Lately, he’s been crying.. He’s been crying..
“Something like this.. Could only be done with the one you love.. Other than that, just like you said before.. It doesn’t mean anything.. Worthless..”
“I really hate people who would do anything just for money!” said Yamapi furiously before leaving the room, leaving Uchi alone there. When Yamapi walked out that door, Uchi felt like he can’t hold it anymore so he cried alone.

Uchi wiped his eyes with his thin sleeves.
Then he felt suddenly there’s a shoulder to cry on. Because his face was already buried inside Yamapi’s embrace. Somehow it’s letting Uchi’s face hide in there because he was crying. And it felt nice, and safe. He was tense with all these burden and pressure that he’s carrying alone.
“Thank.. you for… helping me..” said Uchi again.

The moment Yamapi turn his back on Uchi, Uchi could feel his eyes were wet and warm.

He’s been crying a lot.. And a lot of it has something to do with him..
“Right now ne.. Ryuu, Nii-chan is really sad.. So it’s okay, ne.. If Nii-chan is crying right now..” said Uchi to his brother, he could bet that his face looks awful right now, because he’s saying that as he starts wiping his cheeks again.
“It’s okay, Nii-chan.. Ryuu will protect, Nii-chan..”
How wonderful it sounds.. The feeling of being protected..
“We just wants to protect what is precious to us.. right?”

Ryo walked to the other side of the bed. Slowly took off his jacket and get on the bed. Carefully to still keep the distance between him and Tegoshi, keeping it not too close.
Tegoshi was actually so far away from where he’s lying. But the other boy didn’t seem to complain, so Ryo take it as an approval.
“Night..” said Tegoshi.
“Night..” replied Ryo, even though it already 5.30 in the morning.
Ryo was only closing his eyes for a moment, then he felt something and suddenly Tegoshi was already beside him and clinging on to him. His head are rested freely on Ryo’s chest as if they were just cuddling. Ryo unconsciously held his breath when that happened. His heart is beating fast again.
He even could smell the soft scent of Tegoshi’s hair.
“Ne.. Ryo..”
“Y-Yes?”
“Why are you so caring about me..?” aske Tegoshi sleepy voice.
“…..”
“I thought,, You see me as a total brat.. Like you used to say to me all the time..
Everytime we’re fighting.. I’m loud, I’m selfish, I’m annoying.. I thought you always see me as a total brat..”
Ryo was silent for a moment. He didn’t expect Tegoshi to be this vulnerable right now, it’s so not like him. He could get the feeling that Tegoshi was so comfortable being here because he kept moving his head on Ryo’s chest. Until he finally finds the right spot near Ryo’s neck.
Ryo couldn’t help it. He knew it would be too obvious to do this, but they’ve slept together before, so what the hell. Ryo slowly moved his hand around Tegoshi, wrapping it around
Tegoshi’s shoulder. Locking Tegoshi in his arms.
“You’re not a brat.. You just acts like one.. There’s a difference…”
“Hmm..” Tegoshi smiled shyly, before closing his eyes once more.
“Come on, You should go to sleep..” said Ryo, a bit embarrassed of himself.
Tegoshi nodded.
“Oh, one more thing, Tegoshi…”
“Nani..”
“Happy Birthday..”
