Title : Bittersweet
Pairing : Uchipi - Ryotego
Summary : Uchi Hiroki, a young man who has to survive living in Tokyo city and has to support three of his younger siblings, has never thought that at his current working place he’ll meet a little boy -who will lead him to a person that will turn his world upside down-.
A/N : MINNA~ I'M BACK WITH A NEW STORY ^^, hope you all dont get bored with me ^o^... SO this story will be divided into 2 points of view. Next one will be from Tegoshi’s. (the summary will also change) WARNING: new characters children ^^
Chapter one.
Being a waiter at a night club was very tiring.
This morning when I got off work, yes this morning I said and it was around 2 am..
I saw a family just got off their car. It was a family of a dad, a mom and three children. They looked like they just had their summer vacation because they got those large suit case and there’s this big surfboard tied up to the upper part of the car.
I didn’t know that I stopped my step and was staring at them. I hope they didn’t catch me smiling at them. I thought it was very nice, to be able to have a trip and be happy.
I wish.. I wish to be able to take my family to go somewhere.
“Gomen ne, minna..” Uchi whispered in his heart.
I think my smile fades away when my mind went back to the reality.
I continue walking back home. I was already too tired.
But I have to make breakfast at 7 am, so I have to rest soon. I watched my buildings for a while before I enter it and go straight to my apartment door. We’ve been living in this small apartment, we have to sell our small house 5 years ago to continue living.
When I opened the door, the room was a mess. Like always.
I have three siblings. All three brothers. They never learn whenever I told them to tidy up the room, it would give me less job when I get home. But I guess they’re just kids.
And I’m the grown up here, I shouldn’t get mad over little things.
I guess i’ll clean the room before I sleep.

“Nii-chan..”
“…”
“Nii-chan!!” called his brother.
Uchi was blank for a moment. He was still so sleepy. He didn’t get to sleep until 4 am, and right now he’s already making breakfast for all of them. He made them a simple one, fried rice with eggs.
“Yea? Nani?” answered Uchi.
“Nii-chan.. Today is already a school day.. But you still haven’t buy me a new shoe..” said the youngest brother.
Oh, right… Ryutaro’s shoes were already ruined.. He needs a new one..
“Ah.. I haven’t bought it… But I will! Don’t worry, Ryu.. I’ve taken three more shift at the part-time job.. I’ll get my salary today, matte ne..” smiled Uchi. He patted on his 7 years old brother.
“Uhn!” Ryutaro nodded. “Arigato, Nii-chan.. Nii-chan is the best!!!”
I gave a bitter laugh. It was always nice to have their support somehow it keeps me going and not taking it all as a burden.. Ryutaro was the one that always cheer me up. If only the other two was also like that.
Yuto, the third brother didn’t mind much about anything. He only asks money to go to cram school and to have more study. He wants to get to Michi Park High School, that was no. 1 high school here in Tokyo. He’s already so clever, I still don’t know why he’s so pessimistic on getting into that school.
Actually I’m happy that he was like that, I’m hoping a lot from him. I hope in the future he can be a successful man and have a better life than now. Even like that, right now his study books were very expensive too. That means I need a lot of extra cash to buy him the book he needs.
It’s a little trouble for me but I will work hard for it.
“Nii-chan..” called Yuto this time.
“Hai?”
“They are having extra lesson at the cram school..” said Yuto, even when having breakfast he was reading a physics book.
“Oh, so you’re going to go home late?” asked Uchi.
“Yes.. And we have to pay for the extra lesson.. And all my friend has paid it..” said Yuto again.
“Ah! Hai.. Hai.. I will give you money today, wait until I gets back tonight, okay?” said
Uchi hurriedly when he saw Yuto’s concerned face. He doesn’t want his brothers to worry about their expenses, they shouldn’t have worried about things like that.
“Come on, hurry up! Finish your meal or you’re going to be late!” said Uchi. He stood up and get the money from from his bag and gave it to Yuto and Ryutaro as a pocket money for them.
“Arigato, nii-chan!” said Ryutaro cheerfully. “I’ll save this money for my shoes!”
Uchi leaned forward until his eyes were the same with Ryutaro’s eyes level. “Don’t worry about it! Go buy a lot of candy at the school.. I will bring the new shoes tonight, ne??”
“Hai!! Bye-bye, Nii-chan!!” said Ryutaro.
“Jya, Ittekimassu..” said Yuto as he grabbed on Ryutaro’s hand and walking out from the room.
“Itterashaii..” Uchi waved his hand. Then he sighed.

“You look more like a girl when you’re wearing apron like that!” hissed somebody who just got out from his room. He was a tal young man, the second eldest.
“Well you look more like a girl when you spent almost two decades on the mirror tidying up your hair, Kota!” said Uchi back.
“Shut up! This is what they called style..” he mumbled pissedly.
“Oh, and those uniform aren’t design to be match with that silver shiny belt! Why are you even wearing that? Hey, the sleeves! Pull it down! Wear the uniform they way it should!”
“Aaaah! You’re so noisy!” shouted Kota. “I better get out from this crappy house as soon as i graduate!”
“Well try graduating with those red grades!” said Uchi with sharp tone. “Kota, I just want to remind you.. The last time I was called to your school, they say that if you make one more mistake then they have to expel you!”
“Then GOOD!” said Kota harshly as he took the money from Uchi’s hand and slammed the door before he went away. Uchi frowned at that. It has always been the morning conversation with Kota. They were always fighting.
Uchi tried once to talk to Kota. Asking him because he was already old enough to understand their situation, Uchi asked him to help do the laundry and cleaned the room or just fold the futon back to the closet, but it was all just a waste. Kota didn’t even hear it.
He’s too busy with his friend hanging out, hooking up with girls, and come home late. Spending money for some stupid stuff. He complaints a lot and ask for a lot of things too.
Even though Uchi has work hard to get all he wants, it seems just never enough.
But then again, everytime Uchi wants to blame it all on their parents. He held back, he won’t take this as a burden. Taking care of your brothers is definitely not a burden. He kept telling himself that. Even though it’s a hard condition, but he loves them all more than himself.
“Okaasan.. Otousan.. Please give strength to us and bless us.. We miss you more than we did yesterday…” said Uchi as he put his palm together and pray to the picture of their parents, who died in an accident 5 years ago.

“Ohayoo!” said Uchi when he entered his working place.
“Ohayoo, Hiroki-chan..” said the old lady on the front desk. “Today we’ll be having a lot of kids, because Gosho Company is taking a trip today so they will leave their kids here for full day..”
“Full day?? Eeh?? But I have to work at the supermarket at 2 pm.. Doshiyoo???” said Uchi worried. If he’s going to take care of dozens of kids for full day, he won’t be able to get his salary from the supermarket.
The old lady patted on Uchi’s shoulder slowly.
“Daijobu.. You can get out at 2 pm.. We’ll have somebody to cover you up..”
“Arigatoo, Mitsui-san..” Uchi bowed. The old lady, the owner of the Care Center knew perfectly about Uchi’s condition. So she had been very nice to Uchi. It’s because Uchi had been very helpful and always dedicated on every job he does. For Mitsui-san, she takes Uchi just like her own son.
Uchi quickly went to his locker and changed to his uniform. Currently his main job was to be a caretaker at the Children Care center. It’s a place where the parents leave their children to go to work and get them back when they’re done.
Around 9 am the children came one by one. Uchi was in charge to escort them and look after them at the park behind the foundation. There’s this mini amusement park to entertain the children. Uchi usually wait and sit under the maple tree.
Suddenly, not far from where he sits, he saw a boy around Ryutaro’s age was sitting alone at the sand pool. He wasn’t playing but just stares at it like he was lifeless. Uchi walked to him and slowly sit beside him.
“Hello there…” greeted Uchi kindly.
But the boy says nothing back.
“Moshi-moshi..” said Uchi again in a little voice. He waved his hand in front of the boy’s face. But still no reaction from him, he just gazed at Uchi with deep eyes. Uchi smiled again, he really wants to know what’s wrong with this kid.
Then suddenly that little boy leaned in and hugged Uchi and cry. Uchi was surprised how he cried right on his shoulder. It was so sad hearing a little kid crying like that so suddenly. Uchi lift him up and carried him around so that he stopped crying.
But he doesn’t seem to have intention to stop, it just getting teary more and more. Maybe he lost his toy or something, Uchi thought.

“Your name?”
The boy shook his head.
It was already lunch time, and Uchi was about to feed him but he just won’t open his mouth. The other kid was very energetic and active. But this one was gloomy, and he hasn’t touch his food.
“Chii..nen desu..” the little boy finally speaks.
“Chinen? Chinen-kun? Uwaaaa.. Kawai desu, ne..” said Uchi trying to get his attention again. Because at least he got the boy to talk now.
“Chinen-kun.. Do you like unagi?” asked Uchi.
“Yes..” Chinen nodded.
“Jya… say ‘aaaaa’…” said Uchi again.
“Aaaaa…”
When Chinen open his mouth then Uchi put the food on his mouth, and the boy laughed. It’s wonderful to see his smile he looked so cute. Uchi wondered what could possibly make this boy cried before.
“Nii-chan.. What’s your name?”
“Me? Ummm… Pikachu!” said Uchi poked the boy’s nose playfully.
“Ehehehehe… Pikachu!!” smiled Chinen.

Uchi fell in love with Chinen quickly, it just like seeing Ryutaro. Uchi wondered why he’s not at school, because if this boy was around Ryutaro’s age then he should have been in the second grade of elementary school.
Well, whatever the reason is, Uchi hope to see Chinen again coming here, because the boy was really sweet.
It seems like Chinen was well educated because he’s got really nice behaviour. He doesn’t scream like other brats, he writes, and was amused when Uchi reads a story book for him as if he understands what the story is about. He must have come from a wealthy family.

Uchi, Chinen and the other kids are playing with the alphabet’s letter. Uchi pointed on one and they have to answer what letter was that. They children were very excited to learn the letters, because at this age they were only given taught hiragana letters.
Uchi point at “D” letter.
“D!!!!!” said the kids.
“That’s right!” replied Uchi.
Uchi point at “K” letter.
“J!! K!! Q!!!” the children’s voice were overlapping each other.
“Eh? Which one?” asked Uchi again.
“K!!!!!!” said the kids.
“Hai! That’s right.. Everyone is very clever, ne…” said Uchi. The children praised
themselves too. They’re too cute.
Uchi point at the “P” letter.
“P!!!!!!” said the children at once.
“Ah! Just like Papa!” shouted Chinen suddenly. Uchi turn his head at Chinen’s direction, the boy was very happy to hear that ‘P’ letter. It seems like he adores his father so much.
“Papa? Your papa’s name is ‘P’? what a strange name…” Uchi wondered.
“Uhn! Papa is P! P is Papa! My papa is P!!”

At 2 pm,
Uchi was about to go from the Care Center, he’s going to the supermarket for his part time job. Suddenly Chinen grabbed his jacket from behind.
Uchi lowered his body. “Nani?”
“Pikachu.. Where are you going?”
“I have to go now.. I have something to do.. Gomenne, Chinen-kun..
“NO.. I want to play with Pikachu.. Please don’t go..” pouts Chinen.
“I can’t stay, I have to go.. But, I’ll be here tomorrow, you can come and play in here again..” said Uchi at the pouting boy. He patted several times on Chinen’s head.
Chinen looked like he was about to cry, but at the same time he nods his head. “Okay! Promise!”
“Yup, promise!”

When Uchi was about to cross the front gate, suddenly he saw a green jaguar entered the parking lot. The car looked so cool, Uchi just can’t help to stare. He wondered if one day he could ride in one. But that’s impossible, he thought.
Then there’s a man coming out from the car. He was wearing a working suit, and he took off his sunglasses when he’s already out. And it comes to mind to Uchi that not only the car was kakkoi, but also the man who rides it.
Who’s that?
That man entered the Care Center, Uchi thought maybe it was one of the Dads.
Uchi looked to his watch, he’s almost late so he quickly catch the bus. He can’t have his payment cut because he’s late. He really needs money right now for his brothers.
Uchi hoped he doesn’t forget to buy Ryutaro a pair of normal shoes. He really wished that he could buy Ryutaro a pair of shoes like Chinen-kun had, but it seems expensive.
One day.. One day I’ll buy him a better shoes..
Uchi promised.

Chinen was happy to see the man who had just came to the room.
“Papa!” Chinen jumps to hug that man.
“Oyy.. Don’t call me Papa!” said that man, lifting Chinen up and carry him on his arms.
“Papa, let’s go home..”
“Hai.. Hai..”
The old lady gave a paper. “Here is the receipt, Yamashita-san.. Please sign here..”
“Ah, here.. Thankyou so much for taking care of my little brother..” Yamapi bowed.
“No, problem.. We will always welcome a sweet kid like Chinen-kun..” The old lady bowed back.
“I think I’ll drop him here again tomorrow, he had just moved here so he’s still refusing to go to school.. I really don’t get kids these days.. School used to be fun, right..”
“Ah, that’s the reason..” The old lady laughed.
“Jya.. We’ll be going now..” said Yamapi as he walked out from the Center.

“I did!” said Chinen excitedly.

When Uchi was about to cross the front gate, suddenly he saw a green jaguar entered the parking lot. The car looked so cool, Uchi just can’t help to stare. He wondered if one day he could ride in one. But that’s impossible, he thought.
Then there’s a man coming out from the car. He was wearing a working suit, and he took off his sunglasses when he’s already out. And it comes to mind to Uchi that not only the car was kakkoi, but also the man who rides it.
Who’s that?
That man entered the Care Center, Uchi thought maybe it was one of the Dads.
Uchi looked to his watch, he’s almost late so he quickly catch the bus. He can’t have his payment cut because he’s late. He really needs money right now for his brothers.
Uchi hoped he doesn’t forget to buy Ryutaro a pair of normal shoes. He really wished that he could buy Ryutaro a pair of shoes like Chinen-kun had, but it seems expensive.
One day.. One day I’ll buy him a better shoes..
Uchi promised.

Chinen was happy to see the man who had just came to the room.
“Papa!” Chinen jumps to hug that man.
“Oyy.. Don’t call me Papa!” said that man, lifting Chinen up and carry him on his arms.
“Papa, let’s go home..”
“Hai.. Hai..”
The old lady gave a paper. “Here is the receipt, Yamashita-san.. Please sign here..”
“Ah, here.. Thankyou so much for taking care of my little brother..” Yamapi bowed.
“No, problem.. We will always welcome a sweet kid like Chinen-kun..” The old lady bowed back.
“I think I’ll drop him here again tomorrow, he had just moved here so he’s still refusing to go to school.. I really don’t get kids these days.. School used to be fun, right..”
“Ah, that’s the reason..” The old lady laughed.
“Jya.. We’ll be going now..” said Yamapi as he walked out from the Center.

“Did you make any friend?” asked Yamapi when they’re already inside the car, on the way back to the house.
“I did!” said Chinen excitedly.
“Really? What’s his name?”
“Pikachu!”
