Vacation is almost over :(
What a hot and sticky week to be off. While I didn't have any real plans other than getting a mani and pedi and a massage, plus reading some books-- all of which I did accomplish, I feel like I did nothing because it was so hot that I'd spend my afternoons (when I was home) sitting inside my air conditioned house reading. Weekend plans
Gotta a semi-busy weekend planned. If all goes well and I wake up ungodly early on a weekend, I plan on staining my deck tomorrow morning. I decided to go with a semi-transparent stain instead of the solid, mainly because that seems to be what all the websites suggest. Today I got new steps from my back deck. The old ones had been shaky since I moved in the house over 7 years ago, but have been getting progressively worse each year. Tomorrow is going to be a weird and strange day at work. Friday morning they fired my boss. It was quite a shock and since the higher ups were kinda vague on their reasons why, it just leaves some feelings of uncertainty. I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. New Year!
Welcome 2013! Hope you will be a less expensive year than 2012. Just had a few too many unexpected expenses in 2012: replacing both shutoffs for my hose connections to the outside (also replaced the spigots with frost free ones) Shadow needing dental surgery, replacing my fridge, and having to replace my furnace. Cookied out
Have 3 days off from work. It's my annual finish up my Christmas shopping and do my baking couple of days. Yesterday only got one batch baked, but made a batch that needed to be chilled before baking. Today I baked 4 batches of cookies, plus mixed up another batch of sandies and crackles which are chilling in the fridge for baking up later. ( Read more... ) -
Vacation is over :(
Just had the past 9 days off from work. Didn't go out of town, but just enjoyed a week not going to work. I did get a few things accomplished. My family room is now painted a new lighter color. Halloween costume
Halloween is coming up and I've been invited to a costume party. I am thinking of dressing up as a cat burglar a la Parker, but don't think people at the party will be familiar with Leverage and Parker, so I'll skip getting a long blonde wig.
