Well, I had the ultrasound yesterday and found out we're having a boy! We are excited :) Most likely his name will be Fox - we're still trying to think of a good middle name, so I'm open to suggestions. Well, I am saddened to announce that Krillin (our degu) was put to sleep this morning. He was a funny old degu, either 7 or 8 years old, and he had at least one stroke which left him unable to move around, eat, etc. We had a nice burial for him in our side yard - we put his favorite perching log on top of his grave and some flowers and a carrot ( Read more... )

So we are knee-deep in the homestudy process at this point! We've met with our social worker Nancy once so far, so we have 3 more visits scheduled (the final one being on July 9th). Nancy has said that she will try to write up the report part of the study as we go, so everything should be wrapped up fairly quickly after our final meeting. That ( Read more... )

This may be news to some, and common knowledge to others, but Chris and I have always wanted to have two children: one biological, and one adopted. We have decided upon adopting from Taiwan (which, to put it simply, is basically a part of China). We love the culture, the people, and we meet all of the criteria for adoptive parents. So we went ahead and bought us a car :) He is a blazing blue (i.e. Bluzing) Toyota Yaris, and we just got him yesterday! It is a manual, so we're having to refresh our memories on how to drive a stick. Overall, though, we're pleased so far. Thankfully we were able to drive the Saturn in to the dealership, so they gave us a decent trade-in for
