So, winter sucks. My New Year's plans included a low-key evening with my Santa Barbara friends (who were to be flying in tonight from their Christmas trip home to Maine) because we'd be getting up early-early to go to the Rose Parade tomorrow. Only they just found out their flight was canceled, and they won't be getting to LA until 11:00 tomorrow ( Read more... ) -

It is bitterly cold outside. I think the windchill is about -30*F, which is just brutal. I mean, yes, there was that year in junior high or high school when the actual temperature was -17* and the windchill -44* and I survived, but really? Once it's below zero, it's just cold. Today was good. I went out to lunch and did some Christmas shopping with my dad, which was fun. Then I went to see J and C and their new(ish) baby--he's five months old, and already has six teeth, weighs over twenty pounds, and is wearing twelve-month clothes. Well, today was a good day. Exhausting, but good. Akarui, my friends M and S, and I went to Disneyland. From everyone I'd talked to about it, Disneyland was either going to be ridiculously crowded or completely empty. I'd say it leaned more towards crowded, but not so much that it wasn't enjoyable.
