One of Maeve's little friends from storytime came down with H1N1. When I told her that little girl was sick, she instantly said, "I want to get her something to help her feel better.". Maeve sounded out a word today, in her Barbie I Can Read book! She made the sounds for each letter in the word "pretty"! Hubby just called me, all excited! I recently got Maeve a magnetic board and a couple of sets of letters and numbers. I got everything unwrapped and set out, and I showed her how the letters stick to the board, etc. She walked over, pawed through the letters, picked out five, and then put them on the board - she spelled Socks (with the capital). We had a wonderful party for Maeve's third birthday! We held it at my sister's ENORMOUS house on the Old Northside, so there was plenty of room to run around. Maeve wore a beautiful dress my sister in law sent her, white with embroidered roses. Where does the time go? Maeve is getting so big, she's in size 4t now. We went to Maeve's little friend Giana's birthday party last weekend, and Maeve had an absolute blast! Wow! What fun we had this year! Maeve absolutely loved her new kitchen, to the point that she didn't even eat her dinner, she was so busy playing with it. Wow - it has been a while. Lots to report. First up, we went to a Steel Drum program today. The guy was wonderful, showing different drums along with the steel drums, and letting the kids play on the drums afterwards. I've always sang (sung?) to Maeve, from the first day she was born...and now, she's singing to me! She can sing several songs by heart, and will even burst into song all on her own.
