I just realized that in all my cosplay endeavors, I never even once thought about making pants from scratch (hakama don't count)...and now I know that I must have been subconsciously aware all that time that pants are fiendishly hard to make. >:( Further bedevilment occurs if the pants-wearing subject intends to sit at any time.
