I just realized that in all my cosplay endeavors, I never even once thought about making pants from scratch (hakama don't count)...and now I know that I must have been subconsciously aware all that time that pants are fiendishly hard to make. >:( Further bedevilment occurs if the pants-wearing subject intends to sit at any time. Even boy's pants

Yeah, the crotch is its own special problem.^^; however, it's less of an issue for dolls than it is for people, since dolls don't move around. as much.>.> The whole tuckus thing was a surprise to me though, I didn't know I had to leave so much "give".XD
