I've been working on these pants for three, count'em, THREE NIGHTS. I got the basic pattern from a... Butterick? 18" doll pattern for pull-on pants. Since then it's been modified and trimmed and resewn so many times that I'm not really sure what I did to it anymore.XD I do know that I have to really trim down the back and the sides. Do 18" dolls not have a waist?
Anyway, they are pants and they fit. They don't fall off him when he stands or ride down in the back when he sits, and they even accommodate his boxers, though they're a little baggier than I - and heXD - would prefer. I need to get some velcro for the fly. As it happens I have a little grey zipper in my box of fastening things, so when I get around to making his school pants, he's all set.:)
Measurement-wise, a fat quarter is enough to make one pair of pants, with a waistband if I want to get REALLY fancy. Next up - a shirt! WOOOO.
