After an overnight hospital stay and lots of antibiotics, Howard was doing well enough that they sent him home this afternoon. He'll receive IV antibiotics at home for 3 days and then probably a followup. Still waiting for the culture to come back to tell us exactly what was growing in there. Thanks for your thoughts.

My mom, you say? Why no, my husband appears to have been bitten by some kind of insect on his left calf that caused this. He's been to urgent care twice and has another followup tomorrow. If there is little or no improvement, then he is off to the hospital for IV meds. Good thoughts appreciated.

Howard and I just returned from a lovely weekend away in Connecticut because Bree was away on a school trip to Pennsylvania. Despite the weirdness of coming home to a homeless couple sleeping on my porch, I had a good night with Bree and an even better night out listening to live music while eating dinner by the water with Howard.
