Howard and I just returned from a lovely weekend away in Connecticut because Bree was away on a school trip to Pennsylvania. I sold 14 items, have two items on hold for customers that didn't have the money with them and got a commission! Once I subtracted the fee for the table and the cost of the jewelry forms and minutia I bought for the sale, I actually made a small profit, not including the held items and the commission. WOOHOO!

Whole Beads was my first bead show years ago. I loved the space it was in, The Pennsylvania Hotel, and the 3 sprawling rooms I wandered through. Then, because the Hotel closed, they moved the venue to a large one room set up with rows that were too tight. Oh and btw, knocking an entire bead box full of tiny beads, clasps and crimp beads on the floor truly sucks. Just saying. Oy.

Both shows were a bit of a disappointment this time around. The Whole Bead show has been steadily declining and this year was no exception. Too many vendors with cheap beads and much fewer vendors with good quality. Even fewer lampwork artisans than the year before so everything was basically cheaply made, massed produced crap.
