Twenty-five years ago today this happened. He chose me. No matter what happened afterward, no matter how many years pass since he died, I will always remember that out of all the women in this world, Liam chose me. What a lucky person I was. :)

Today I am reflecting on the life and passing of one of the more important people in my life, my Uncle Bob. Today marks the 34th anniversary of his death. Had he lived he would have been 76 this coming May. Some years hit me harder than others. Last night, somewhere between 700-800 motorcycles rode down to the site and laid a wreath at midnight near the entry to the PATH trains. I didn't stop living my life 10 years ago, and I'm not about to go hide now because of a threat for Sunday. The threat and fear of another attack will always loom over my head, whether it's 9/11 or any other date. Nothing to do but brace and wish Sunday was here and gone already.

Today would have been Liam's 44th birthday. We always celebrate that event with one of his favorite meals, either meatloaf or tacos. While it is sad he isn't here, I always celebrate the day he was born because that was a marvelous day indeed. Happy Birthday, Honey.
