It's a small raise but I just got a raise last year and was not expecting this. Also, the letter I received telling me about the raise was as good as the raise itself. I sometimes feel under-appreciated, especially by Mom, and the letter really acknowledged my contributions to the Garden. This really made my day.

It has been a very busy but somehow restful weekend. Bree now has some sort of ick that makes me think she will be home tomorrow. I have a ton of paperwork to complete but I'm allowed two paperwork days to complete it. I've already taken one but I'm definitely taking the other tomorrow. That way I can do what I need to and still keep an eye on Bree

I woke up feeling fine. Then a half hour later I was queasy. A half hour after that I was throwing up. Called in. No matter how much is on my plate this week, it's not worth going in for feeling like this.

We're home. Can't say I'm thrilled. I came home to a very messy home with a very overgrown yard. Also, all the problems that didn't plague me in Vegas were waiting for me upon my arrival. I have a little over two weeks before school starts again and I'm wondering if I'll feel at all rested by the time I go back to work. Two weeks to reclaim this ( Read more... )

Tomorrow is our school's Thanksgiving celebration. I am bringing homemade cranberry sauce and cranberry relish, cube stuffing with mushrooms, celery andonion and sweet potato casserole from scratch. My kitchen smells divine.

Well, work starts next week for me and high school starts for Bree. Actually, work starts in some fashion for me this week since both the students and the staff go back on the same day next Tuesday. In order to deal with that, I will be going in at least one day this week to prep. It stinks, but it has to be done. I've actually been thinking about ( Read more... )

Summer vacation is but two days away for this very tired, overly stressed, semi-burnt out special education teacher. It feels like it will never get here.

The last two days at work have been hellish. I was sort of contemplating a day off but decided not to because I want to save my days for Fall. But Bree came down with a 101.6 fever last night and was still feverish this morning. Howard could have cared for her but he is under the weather also, nursing a bad tooth.
