Vacation winding down

Aug 30, 2010 09:21

Well, work starts next week for me and high school starts for Bree. Actually, work starts in some fashion for me this week since both the students and the staff go back on the same day next Tuesday. In order to deal with that, I will be going in at least one day this week to prep. It stinks, but it has to be done. I've actually been thinking about alternative careers because the teaching pulls so much out of me emotionally. The idea of seriously taking up the beadwork has been hovering at the back of my mind.

Hershey Park was a lot of fun, as usual. It had been 3 years since we'd been there last and so we had to catch up on riding the carousel, Liam's favorite ride there. Bree and I agreed that 4 times this year would break us even plus one, just in case we didn't make it next year.

Then Bree headed to Comfort Zone Camp for 4 days while Howard and I spent a day and a night in Connecticut, enjoying the casinos. No, I didn't win big but I only lost $27.00 so I consider that a win overall. Best thing is, we had fun.

This week will be a whirlwind of chores and shoehorning as much fun as possible in. Bree has a report she needs to finish plus she has a open house and a ice cream party at her new school. I have household chores plus setting up for my new class. Friday, if good weather prevails, we are heading to the beach with friends. Busy, busy, fun, fun, fun.
