Been back at work since Wednesday 3rd. Advocacy assesssments last week, and legal research hand-in due on 22nd, so library's getting busier now. W orked yesterday in our initiative to support the part-timers more. Went to quiz yesterday, and saw Keir for the first time in months. He's bearing up well considering all his health issues. Good to see him, anyway. Hoping he'll make it to a few more quizzes in the new year.
Last day of work before Christmas today. not too bad - we didn't need to evict the students from the library at gunpoint this year.

Two work dos this week. The School one was at Gresham College, on Tuesday. Nice food, plenty of free red wine. Went to the last ever meeting of the European Unicorn User Group yesterday. SirsiDynix are replacing the Unicorn name with Symphony, which is much less surreal. Went to the evening do as well, at Truckles wine bar. They did a nice beer served in jugs with old-style tankards to drink it from.

Busy afternoon at work on Thursday, as we had to shortlist for part-time posts and should have had the application forms on Wednesday. privatep32 and I ended up finishing the shortlisting in the pub, as we were thrown out of the building at seven ( Read more... )

One of our part-timers announced today that he's leaving as he has a full-time job. He left privatep32 a fluffy bunny, and me a slightly less fluffy but no more grown-up present.
Really thoughtful of him. And he updated Library Guide Five and the missing books order today, too.
