This is a public service announcement:
I will be working from home tomorrow.
Please be advised that you may wish to take precautions for your own safety and perhaps stay indoors and avoid any unnecessary journeys.
Last time I worked from home a tornado hit North London.
The time before that was the day of the July 7th bombings.

eep! everyone be careful. Be very, very careful.

Don't feel so bad. For a while there, every time we took a trip, *something* happened (I was convinced it was a conspiracy for me to miss out on all cultural references, since every time it happened we were away from tv for the duration).

It started simply that one year we were on a houseboat when the O.J. Simpson LA-freeway high-speed chase happened (this might not have been news where you live). :)

Then it grew. Once we landed in Zurich and our favorite driver, Werner, said upon picking us up, "your president has declared war last night". Then another time we were in Germany (I think) and Hurricane Katrina hit. And then we were on another trip when the Tsunami hit.

I tell you what -- it was a little scary to go on trips for a while ...

OK, Ant. Never go on holiday on a day when I'm working from home.
You know what'll happen...

Seriously. It could be the end of the world as we know it.

Buy your Y2K supplies now, folks. The end of the world is at hand! Oh wait -- I'll not be on holiday tomorrow. We *might* be safe :)

Maybe you should *say* you're working at the office and then just casually stay home and work there?
