So.  I'm officially a postgraduate student, registered for research training.  On the first rung of the ladder to doctorate-ness.

The modified biti s because they're only paying 70% of the fees, for some bizarre reason.  They're my bank, ferGod'ssake - they know how poor I am...  So now we have to magic £550 out of thin air.  I know it's not much, really, but it's more than we have.  Sigh...

Today was my last exam.  Apart from collecting the outstanding marks and the graduation ceremony, I'm finished as an undergraduate.  It's sort of sad, but I'm really looking forward to the masters.  All I have to do now is make it through the summer without having to file for bankruptcy.

It started okay.  The Husband is away for a few days, so I was woken up by Evan Davis talking to the Duchess of York instead of by Himself, but apart from that everything was hunky dory.

Today was my first day without a deadline for... well, since the end of September.  (Though last summer really didn't feel like three and a half months off - I have No Idea where the time went.  It's not like I do a lot of cleaning...)

My dissertation is finished.  Yay!  However, it is currently in bits which need to be stuck together into one document.  Boo!  I have until Tuesday to make it look pretty, get it bound, and hand it in.  I had my final meeting with my diss adviser today, who thinks my subject is fun and interesting and that I have loads of potential for future ( Read more... )

The evening started quite well.  I was at the library til six finishing a chapter for my dissertation (only five to go - yay?!?) and got home just in time to get changed before heading out with Himself to play squash.
