... today has been ... challenging.

After starting the day by dumping hot coffee all over myself (and my inner thighs and my "lady lap" - as my sister euphemistically called it - are itching like crazy now.  Argh.), I finally made it to the uni library at about midday, and worked on my dissertation.

I have a lovely big mug which my sister gave me and which is perfect for my morning bucket of coffee.  Sadly, I dropped a plate on it in the washing up bowl about a year ago and broke the handle off - but Himself superglued it and it was all better.

I had a meeting with one of the lecturers this week, who emailed to ask if I’d like some more personal feedback on the presentation/interview.  It was actually my dissertation supervisor, who’s the one who brought the job to my attention in the first place.  I think she just wanted to make sure I wasn’t ( Read more... )

There was a confused sheep on the road this morning, dodging lorries.  It finally took refuge in the grounds of the chapel across the way.

I know the week isn't officially over yet, but I'm not going to school uni today, so it might as well be!

Since The Parents and The Sister left on Sunday afternoon, I've mostly been asleep.  This week has been the sleepiest week I've had for ages.  In between sleeping, though, I've:

Went to Write Time last weekend.  Had a lovely time - lots of fannish goodness and I'm determined to actually watch my Stargate: Atlantis DVDs.  Any show that inspires such lovely fic as I saw last weekend must be good.  (Even if you have to dig to find the good, as some people seemed to think...)

Well.  Friday has been a bit of a mix so far...

Bad : Cleaning my glasses this morning and the left lens popped out.  Am totally blind without them...
Good : Found spare pair  - old prescription but seemed okay to drive with.  Pootled slowly to town, and lovely Dollond & Aitchison fixed the broken pair in seconds, for free.
