There are mad times just around the corner...

So.  I'm officially a postgraduate student, registered for research training.  On the first rung of the ladder to doctorate-ness.

I'm also one of only two people doing this particular course; the other is a lovely Greek girl with a hint of Rose Tyler about her, who is a constant state of stress.  Can't say I blame her - we've sort of fallen through the cracks.  Not doctoral students, not "normal" postgrads, not undergrads.  We're a category all of our own in our department.  There are others like us (which, yes, makes us sound like werewolves or aliens or something, which we're not.  Well, I'm not) in other departments, on the other campus, but we only see them in giant classes of 50+ students which include PhDs and other researchy types.

The last week has been a cocktail of fear, confusion, worry, befuddlement and excitement.  Under a miniature paper umbrella of frustration.

But it's all going to be worth it.  Oh yes.  It is.
