Gosh! It's been such a long time since I posted here.

Anyway, today was the spring show, so yesterday I did lots of cooking. I entered 12 classes and got prizes in 10. As usual, the photography judge didn't like my photos.

I love the moment when you go from 'Sewing a skirt,' to 'Creating an outfit.'

I'm making Idris for a fancy dress competition, and I have just pinned the gold overlay to the skirt.

Before I write up about Eastercon, I thought I had better say how I did in the local spring show.

It is a smaller show, and there are not so many classes I go in, but this year I did well in the handful I did enter; four firsts out of five classes.

I started out to drive to school, but when the traffic ground to a halt, I phoned the school (Yes I do sometimes have my mobile on me) and discovered it was closed. Luckily I was just coming up to a roundabout so I could turn around.

Went into school this morning to take my mugs back and to go to a meeting on reading. There's this new thing that's been running in year 1 which has brought good results. It's good if you can get help to the children early because by the time I get them in the juniors, it's almost too late if they can't read well enough. Apparently, I have my own ( Read more... )
