got a bit behind on my usual holiday updates, but I have been busy.

The last day of school was emotional. I had been with this class for the last three years, and the yeargroup as a whole for the last four years. I have come all the way through Juniors with these children. I got some lovely presents; one boy drew a dalek on the label of his. The ( Read more... )

Today the torch came through my home town. The school where I work was invited to Stoke Mandeville Stadium to see it. This meant a lot of hanging around for the children (nearly 2 hours) but we did get a good view of two torch bearers, and didn't have to put up with the support vehicles as they couldn't come on to the track.

Today I went on a school trip (I am doing the same trip tomorrow). It is to a WW11 place in Bushey, and everyone is encouraged to dress for the period.

Well, the school is closed to pupils tomorrow, but us non-strikers still have to go in.

To make the day more fun (there are no children, so why not?), I have been baking 2 different types of biscuit, some polish cake and some welsh cakes. I also bought some hot chocolate with marshmallows and squirty cream.

Should make the day go a bit quicker.
