Travelling back in time
Today I went on a school trip (I am doing the same trip tomorrow). It is to a WW11 place in Bushey, and everyone is encouraged to dress for the period.
Well, I had a pretty good idea I was going to be on this trip some months ago, so I began planning my outfit. I decided to go as a Guider. Basically, I have most of the outfit already as it is my smart uniform suit, just worn a little differently. I folded Dad's cub neckerchief to make the tie, bought badges off Ebay, got lucky with a 1950's Girl Guide rucksack, sourced some gloves, a snood, gas mask box and flip-top bottle for my lunch and I was set to go.
All the museum people were most impressed, so I think I must have done a good job.
