Woke up at 1:30 and couldn't get back to sleep so I thought I'd get up and make a start on some more of the day's preparations. I did finally get started being productive yesterday and got a lot done - sweeping, vacuuming, redding up, baking pies, wrapping presents. We had a nice get together last night for Hazel's birthday with Hazel and her friend Amber coming up from Evans City. Ate at Sakura and went to Chloe's afterwards for cake. That might become a standard thing to do. Though I would like to get some use from our backyard fire circle sometime this summer. Maybe for Jules and Dave's birthdays in ( Read more... )

Raining today! All day. So I'm glad that Jan and I got out yesterday for such a good hike. We went to Oil Creek State Park and explored around the Cow Run Shelters area. The map given out by the park was not accurate but by hiking back and forth and covering all the roads and finding the trails we found a nice loop to hike in the future. It was one ( Read more... )

I think I'm having a bit of empty nest syndrome. We have a Hazel sized hole on the house now. She kept to herself in her room most the time but she still had a big presence. Her room in the new place is small but very nice and her landlady/housemate is super nice. It's an older house with high ceilings and quaint details. It'll be good for her to ( Read more... )
