I finally got out for a good walk down back yesterday. Dave and I took the dogs down to the creek and to the lake. There was a lot of of washout from the last flood into the lake. Lots of pictures:

Exposed ground. This was a field of wildflowers and weeds last fall - all gone now.

That used to be a gentle slope down to the lake before.

The geese are just as curious about us as we are of them.

Exposed roots.

You can't tell from the picture but there is an eagle in the nest.

I'm standing at the lake to take this picture.

This is a different spot where the ground was washed away as the flood rushed into the lake.

Not that great of a picture but I liked it.

Another not very good pic but I still liked it.

Dave said he had never see markings like this on lake ice before. From the amount of time he spends ice fishing I would have thought he'd seen everything. It was strange. We both tried to imagine what caused the markings but nothing really made sense.

There were a few places where the lapping marks came together into a center circle. The circles always had what looked like straight tracks going through their centers.

Another circle center with a line going through it.

Questions:
What did you Google last?
I'm interested in full spectrum photography right now and I was looking that up. It might be nice to have a good infrared camera.

Are you good at giving directions?
Not really sure. I think I am. I like to draw maps for people to follow. As far as giving directions for doing things I also like to write it all down for them.

Plans for the day:
Hazel is coming for a visit and to pick up some stuff she forgot last time she was here.
I find posting things (with pictures) so much easier here on LJ but later today I'd like to figure my way around DW better.
I ordered squishy balls to strengthen my right hand and they should arrive today - plans to try that out.

broken wrist, ice, eagles, flood, hazel, lake, dave
