Long time no post. I read all your posts, but just haven’t had it in me to talk about my life, other than in comments. No idea why. No idea why I can’t seem to do a book review, although I *must* work on that today or at any rate soon. Nothing horribly bad has happened, but nothing extraordinary has happened, either.

In the last 48 hours, it has poured rain, had sideways snow, hail, wind that’s thrashed the plants, little lightweight white pellets that look like packing peanuts but tiny, and brilliant sunshine. Finally a day that wasn't just miserable cold; I don't know if it made it up to 32 F during the day but at least it wasn't horrible just breathing outside. For a couple of days it was below 10 F for the highs and around 0 F for the lows. And the wind was blowing, quite hard. Well, we're not in a couple of feet of snow- yet. We're probably safe from that by this point. Yesterday there were really strong winds and snowflakes tornado-ing around in the wind, but nothing stuck on the ground. It snowed and stuck pretty close to here, but so far, so good. It was minus 5 degrees F when Tim left for work this morning. We had a high of about 22. It's supposed to be just as cold tonight. I've had the furnace running as well as having the wood stove blasting all day, and still running around the house in layers and heavy furry vest ( Read more... )

I'm very glad I finished with my gardening work (for clients; there is always stuff to do here!) last Saturday, because it's been snowing for three days now, and the snow is sticking. OMG the sky is BLUE today instead of being orange-gray with smoke! Perhaps my sinuses will start to heal now!

And, even though it's 65 F in the house, after so many days and weeks of 90 +, I'm freezing.

Yesterday I was fully hydrated, but every time I got up the room spun and once things turned black. I figure maybe my sodium levels were still too low, so I ate Fritos and salted peanuts.
