Tonight is a slow night on vampire shift. Oh wait, I'm actually home tonight. I get confused about what day it is. Starting a day on Monday and ending on Tuesday, plus sleeping days, messes up your calendar. I'm awake at 3am, it's the life of the undead even on weekends. I'm really looking forward to the long weekend. I'm taking Friday night off and Monday is our holiday so I'll have a four day weekend. I need it. Have I mentioned how much I hate night shift?

Tonight is going to be a tough one. I seem to alternate between having extremely busy nights and slow nights with too much time on my hands. The busy nights outnumber the slow ones by a fair margin. My clock is completely and utterly flipped. It took almost two weeks of vampire shift to acclimate. There is no longer a struggle to remain alert on the job. About 20 hours after flinging my poo-filled email at Hermanos I relieved him at the end of his shift. Nothing was said. I could feel the tension. He was pissed. Once again I found a project had sat much of the day.

The routine I'm settling into is not a life I care to live. I get home around 5:45 AM and go straight to bed. The first two days I woke up at 1:30, today 3:00. I get some minor things done around the house, cook dinner and leave for work at 6:30-ish. I'm at Monkeytech for 10+ hours and start the night shift cycle again when I stumble home.
