Steven Slater better enjoy his 15 miuntes and get the most he can from it. He's headed for the unemployment line and won't be working in the airline industry any time soon. Maybe you heard of his tarmac tirade.
While removing luggage from an overhead bin a careless passenger struck Slater in the head opening a small wound. The unapologetic passenger was apparently rude to flight attendant Slater. The young man grabbed the overhead mic and berated the passenger over the plane sound system. He then grabbed some beer, opened the emergency exit chute and escaped workplace hell ...... Weeeeeeeeeee !
Of course he was arrested and I suppose that's justified but he's become a bit of a working class hero to some and overnight ordinary man celebrity. I don't know about hero. We tend to overuse that word. It's almost meaningless these days. But I do sympathize with Steven Slater and I believe most working class people can identify with his frustration.
Most of us lack the balls ...... or is it stupidity? ...... to lash out against the inhumanity-of-it-all and tell the world to "PISS OFF!" We have bills to pay. Slater will face some heavy fines and no paycheck to pay them with.
This is why I will NEVER work with the public to earn my living. I lack the temperment to deal with rude or abusive people. I hope Slater makes a few bucks from him moment in the sun, he'll need it.
