My very dear friend Miriam died very unexpectedly last Sunday morning. She would have been 86 this month, and had just agreed last week to chair the Antiques Show committee for 2008-2010. Another one of my own recipes, stuffed shells with sausage and cheese, salad, and the Torre Sangiovese. I think we're in a rut, wine-wise, but when it's good, it's good! -
Well, it's out of my hands
Got the "go with it" from my prof on my final project proposal; it's printed and I'm turning it in tomorrow. Now it's up to the fates (and the faculty advisory committee) whether I start or give it up. I've been ditzing with this particular thesis for probably eight months now; it's the third one I've proposed, and the farthest I've gotten. Sink ( Read more... ) -
Waiting at LaGuardia
Have a few more minutes until I have to board so an update on yesterday in NYC. Spent about four hours at MOMA which I had forgotten was open on Mondays; first time I have been since it opened and it is great as far as I am concerned. Weekend in NYC
Not really impressed with Company -- interesting presentation, good set and staging, most performers outstanding, but perhaps it just doesn't translate well to the 21st century. The first act ran very slow, and the second was better but also shorter. After it was all over, it was like, Yeah, and? Did not come away with anything memorable beyond ( Read more... ) -
Random
Just saw a mouse in the garage.
For dinner tonight we had a really nice ribeye, sauteed baby zucchini which was really good, and a risotto from a box that really wasn't. But a good 2003 Farallon Cabernet Sauvignon -- don't remember the cost or anything but it was good and had a really pretty rich color. :) -
Back to normal for a couple of days
Absolutely have to finish the final draft of my final project proposal this morning, so that the prof can edit it and get it back to me to submit by next Friday! Have had a major procrastination issue with this because of problems putting down how I perceive my goal. I am just going to write it fresh withouth trying to re-word what I have and go ( Read more... ) -
Really
For crying out loud. Ever since they loaded the "new look" every time I do any blessed thing I have to log in again. And it won't let me log in to change my password to something I will actually remember instead of the one they sent me. Anyone else having this problem?
