Well, it's out of my hands
Got the "go with it" from my prof on my final project proposal; it's printed and I'm turning it in tomorrow. Now it's up to the fates (and the faculty advisory committee) whether I start or give it up. I've been ditzing with this particular thesis for probably eight months now; it's the third one I've proposed, and the farthest I've gotten. Sink or swim time.
