Car is back.  Bad battery.  A monetary set-back, but not a major one.

My sister and mom are arriving Friday for a visit of unspecified length.  My house is on the fucking filthy side; cleaning is the name of the game this week.

Spent some time editing today and met my goal.  At this time next week, the chapter should be done.  And then it's just one more and I can move on to other, non-fannish projects.

Did Pilates today for the first time in ages and ages.  I really REALLY need to stop with the on-off thing.  It about killed me today.  So once again I will vow to keep up with Pilates, at least every other day, regain my abdominal muscle tone, and not fucking lose it.

My area is currently dealing with a little hot spell.  I figure anything goes before Labor Day here, but because we had cooled down after a miserable fucking July, these 100 degree plus temps felt new.  Except it's different.  Yesterday was the hottest day of the year...and yet because the humidity was low, didn't seem that bad.  In July we had 97 ( Read more... )

As an American of Scandinavian descent and general fan of Nordic countries, I'm pretty horrified by the events in Oslo today.  The latest I've heard is that 80 people were killed on that island where the Labor Party retreat was taking place.  As far as I can tell by reports, they were mostly teens.  Holy Fuck.
