This is sort of an expanded canon question, but has JKR ever confirmed or hinted at the existence of any other school(s) of magic in Britain, apart from Hogwarts? I'm trying to estimate the total population of Wizarding Britain, and knowing whether there are more witches and wizards than just the ones who went to Hogwarts would really help.

I know there isn't really any canon evidence on this one way or the other, but I'd love to hear people's speculation. We know that werewolves only seem to transform once a month, presumably on the night when the moon is closest to peak fullness. But what if peak fullness occurs within a few minutes of twelve noon? Hello, I was wondering what are your theories on their age difference? Since it is mentioned that Rodolphus was part of the gang of Slytherins with Severus in school, then doesn't that imply that Bella is older than her husband? Help please. Thanks!

Is there any mention in canon of what time of year the professional quidditch season begins? (Obviously it ends with the World Cup.)

I realize that next to nothing is known about Theo Nott's mother other than that her husband was an elderly Death Eater and that she died sometime before 1995. Since Alice and Frank Longbottom were Aurors, how old do you think they were in the Wizarding War? They'd have to be a little older than the Marauders, right? From what others have said about them, it sounds like they were 'professionals' already.

I'm trying to find somewhere in canon about whether prefects can, or cannot take (or give) house points. I have a feeling the Hermione says something about this somewhere (or possibly Sirus), but can't find the right place.

Also, do we know any Marauder era teachers apart from Dumbledore and Slughorn?

Someone just went out of their way to inform me on FF.net that I had a canon error in one of my fics because I had Remus bitten by Fenrir Greyback on his sixth birthday.
