This is sort of an expanded canon question, but has JKR ever confirmed or hinted at the existence of any other school(s) of magic in Britain, apart from Hogwarts? I'm trying to estimate the total population of Wizarding Britain, and knowing whether there are more witches and wizards than just the ones who went to Hogwarts would really help.

I'm working on a fic that has some Marauder era stuff and I'm trying to figure out what year Snape, Lily, and the Marauders all started at Hogwarts. Do we have a definite birthday for any of the 5 so we can be sure of when they started at Hogwarts? I looked at the HP Lexicon website but different pages there are giving me different answers.

I'm sorry if this is too obvious a question for this comm, but -- do we know which teacher at Hogwarts would teach healing spells? Obviously Madame Pomfrey heals but she doesn't teach as far as I know. I'm referring to a spell which wouldn't be a potion (I think there are some?) Would it be a charm and taught be Professor Flitwick?

What is the weather like at Hogwarts around Halloween and Christmas time? How cold is it? Is there snow? I mean, I know it snows in the films, but I've always heard that weather in Britain is very wet, not exactly snowy.
