There's an assumption - at least with me and my little circle of fandom, at any rate - that Ravenclaws' primary trait is brains, and the second is snobbishness.  Is that second trait canon?  Does it only stem from Penelope's line in the second book?

Alright, I know Ravenclaws colors are blue and bronze, the movies have them in blue and silver scaves. A friend of mine has offered to make me a HP scarf for Ravenclaw and I was wondering if the books actually mention the scaves colors.
