Yesterday the motorhome behaved worse and worse. It was not so noticeable in Kansas where it is flat but Oklahoma is more up and down. We could do 60 well enough on the flat but any uphill grade at all and we were down to 40 mph. wayfinder38 couldn't use the cruise control for the last 100 miles. We made more distance today from Des Moines to Concordia, Kansas. We stopped twice at rest areas. Once to eat lunch and the next time to add some oil to the engine.

The White Knight arrived on his Maroon Steed (Honda Motorcycle) to climb up on our motorhome roof and check for damage. The solar panels are fine, the roof is in good shape but one A/C cover had a hole in it and one was cracked. The TV antenna cover was pretty much destroyed. I phoned Dane County Parks the end of March to find out when the campgrounds would be open, they told me April 10. We stopped by the office 10 days ago, again we were told the 10th. We waited until after the clinic closed to move the motorhome to Lake Farm County Park. We had been very careful with our water use and had bought gallons of drinking ( Read more... )

Wayfinder wanted to get our step fixed so it worked right and also have the coolant leak checked. He made an appointment with a truck repair place on the east side of Madison for 7 am Wednesday morning. I have had a busy few days. Friday morning was Wayfinder's Dr. appointment. The news is yes he is iron deficient. Not only does he not have enough iron in his red cells his iron reserves are almost depleted. Now the hunt for the cause, next occult blood test, endoscopy and a different kind of iron pill.
