Help arrived by Motorcycle

Apr 15, 2006 23:32

The White Knight arrived on his Maroon Steed (Honda Motorcycle) to climb up on our motorhome roof and check for damage. The solar panels are fine, the roof is in good shape but one A/C cover had a hole in it and one was cracked. The TV antenna cover was pretty much destroyed. The funny part was when we raised the antenna to check if that function still worked the antenna rotated like it is supposed to. It had stopped rotating sometime this summer. I guess the hail shocked it into working again.

We thought putting Duct Tape over the holes would be a good idea. It would protect everything from the elements until we could file our insurance claim and get replacement covers. Do you think we could find our Duct Tape. One more thing we have hidden from ourselves so well we can't find it. So we went out for breakfast at Monona Gardens and then Shopko for two kinds of Duct Tape. The regular kind and a transparent Duct Tape that is supposed to last 6 times as long.
busman1994 Climbed back on the roof and taped up all the holes with a final layer of transparent tape to protect things.

While he was here I gave him the inside and outside tour. When we were admiring our 8V92 Detroit Diesel Engine he noticed one of the hoses had come loose and fixed that. He then was able to use our outside wash up facilities complete with Lava Soap which took off most of the grease.

Wayfinder and I could not say enough thank yous for the help. Neither of us should climb up on our roof and it sure takes a load of our mind to have a friend who cheerfully gave us a hand.

The rest of the day we buckled down and worked on taxes. There are a few pieces of information missing that we will have to track down during business hours on Monday. I hope we get some back this year instead of paying out. I count for an additional deduction this year so that should help.
