Hectic...that's how to describe things right now.

My finals went well (finished up with another 4.0 semester), and I was set to head home, when a sudden bit of good news forced me to change my travel plans. Then, a snowstorm forced me to change my travel plans again a few days later! Thank dog I hadn't yet bought tickets in either case...

It's been a wild ride, and now that classes have started, things don't seem to be slowing down...

Since my last update, I had the misfortune of losing my wallet. It could've been worse (I had only $15 or so in it) but it was still a pain getting things replaced. My friend came to visit only a week or so after this happened, and it fucked with our ( Read more... )

 I'm nearing the end of what was originally going to be my first year of grad school. Since I wouldn't be able to graduate this semester (being a whopping one credit hour short) and want to make this degree as worthwhile as possible, I'm going to go for broke (so to speak) and do a second year. The past few weeks have been insane...this is really the first chance I've had to sit around and do nothing, and it feels rather odd to be in that situation.

Huzzah, it's the weekend again. Maybe I can break the cycle of being constantly sleep-deprived, at least temporarily. Our brief stretch of actual winter seems to have ended, though I think most of you Easterners are shoveling off the remains of it that travelled from here! Dragged myself awake and out into the cold after only a few hours of sleep for my early class this morning, which ended up being a colossal waste of time. Read the email from my next professor about how he'd cancelled classes for the day on account of the weather shortly thereafter. Classes are seeming to go well, though I feel like none of them have the inherent challenge a few did last semester. The one class I have that would actually be kind of difficult happens to be very closely related to my major, and thus I have a strong understanding of the concepts involved.
