Today, my mom took our older cat to the vet, and we both thought she was not going to return home alive. Amazingly, she did, and may well have much more minor health issues than we thought she did, and according to the vet, is probably not really suffering (something else we were very worried about). This'll be an interesting few days...the trip I've had planned (no, I won't say to where, though it's not to a con or anything) has undergone a rather jarring revision, now that I've found out last-minute that my friend can only be out of town two days. Looks like I'm taking a brief respite from Death by Midterms to talk about the elections last night. I finally got a chance to get my injured knee looked at--the verdict apparently being that the damage and swelling were relatively minimal, there was likely no significant damage to tendons, ligaments, or bone, and that two weeks of not overstressing things would likely be sufficient for it to heal. It's a very interesting change here--though maybe this is simply reflective of my particular classes, and not the school as a whole--that I feel that simply studying the material and working hard is generally sufficient to do well in a class. So...I got the job! Huzzah and such for not being unemployed anymore, and furthermore for actually doing what it is I wanted to be doing in the first place (despite the pay).
