De-breaked
Hectic...that's how to describe things right now.
My finals went well (finished up with another 4.0 semester), and I was set to head home, when a sudden bit of good news forced me to change my travel plans. Then, a snowstorm forced me to change my travel plans again a few days later! Thank dog I hadn't yet bought tickets in either case...
Spent some time at my parents' new place, which is small but pleasant. I finally got my stepdad out on a spectacular local hike, which he really seemed to enjoy. Well, except for the part where a dog started attacking our dog, though luckily nobody was hurt. Shortly after Christmas, I flew out to see my dad for a week. It was a mostly uneventful, but nice visit...no zoo meets or collegiate New Year's parties for me this time! My dad and I rang in the new year at the home of a coworker of his, who he claims is "just a friend". I would have no problem if something more was going on there, and would be happy for him, but if there is, he's apparently ashamed to tell me.
I returned back to my mom's and stepdad's, and got in a few more hikes with old friends there. My stepdad is finally working on his issues with a therapist, and while there are still some pretty big bumps in the road, I'm damned proud of him for finally confronting them! I returned to campus, though not before getting a chance to meet up with lobowolf on his way back from FC. We had a nice, albeit brief visit...
My classes for this semester are few, but challenging, and should be pretty interesting. One of them is taught by arguably one of the best professors in the entire university, and I'd believe it! Barring something unexpected, this'll be my last semester here, however...
Without going into too much detail, I received two pieces of news this morning--one great, and one that would normally be great but in the context I received it, promised to be a nightmare. I think the family drama that would've resulted from the latter has been resolved now, thank dog, but that was still stress I didn't need now.
Lastly, I've gotten off my duff a bit as of late and tried my hand at a bit of art. This one was with a photo reference, but not traced...it ain't perfect, but certainly could've turned out worse!
