So...I finally got around to calling my aunt, who is in a similar line of work to the one I'm interested in. We spoke for hours; I think we shared more conversation today than we have for the entire rest of my life! And after that, I have set in motion what will be perhaps be a life-changing event: going back to school.

Some slightly better news from the past few days:

I finally managed to actually have a conversation with a fellow zoo (you know who you are). Unfortunately relatively brief due to circumstances on my end, but with luck we'll be able to chat again soonish. For those of you keeping track, this is the first time I've ever had such a conversation!
