Today is Parent Teacher Conference Day.

I wish I was smarter or braver or preferably both.

I have to deal with a biased teacher, who is personally biased against my son. She is a piece of work. I have butted heads with her before. And complained to the Vice Principal. Which may have been a mistake but God, really? Who makes it their mission in life ( Read more... )

Mixed feelings:

#2's flight on Saturday was cancelled, so an extra two days and...I was both pleased and a little let down. The single mom gig is hard, and I was sort of looking forward to just caring for myself for a week or so. My newfound church family held a meditation service last night to help us help each other deal with the results of our recent election. It did help. Candles always help. Tears help. Just knowing you are not alone helps.

I have been absent a brief while, and here is why. My younger son broke his arm, the humerus just below the shoulder, on Monday. This has been a week of ER visits, ortho clinic visits, adjustments at home and at work, text communication every-damn-where. He is currently in a half cast from his shoulder to below the elbow and wears a sling.
