Today was adventures, mostly with Jess, Em, Tom and Alice. I met them at Pike Place and hung around for there for a while. Then we went to the Lighthouse, where an enormous nunmber of people from a variety of places had dinner, including Paul !gazebo. Then we went walking in the woods. Birthday consisted of getting up late, getting lost in Schenley Park walking to school, lots of thesis work, visiting Emily and coming home to discover Julie had acquired and decorated me a large cookie. Also receiving many, many calls and IMs wishing me good day.

I am happy.

My friends are all awesome.

Yesterday I had a good conversation with Emily, and then I wrote a beautiful functional, functorized trie in ML. Today I rewrote most of it to be imperative because it's bad when your code hits swap. It runs at least a thousand times faster, no exaggeration.

I have incredible, ungodly amounts of work.

Yesterday, I spent a portion of the day wondering around Squill doing various forms of shopping, and some letting Bridget into Sherbrook to get stuff out of our basement. I did little work, and may do some Saturday ( Read more... )
