What a day. We took Värtti to the vet because she seemed to be sick. It turns out that she has a urinary tract infection for which she got antibiotics. Poor thing. At the cottage I read an article on Tieteen kuvalehti (a Finnish science magazine) about how semen acts as an antidepressant in women. I finally remembered to search the net and it seems to be based on legitimate scientific research. I wonder, if I could find that original article at the Uni library... We're back from our week long trip to Ruka, about 800 km North from here. I went there with mom, her companion, his kid, Orasi, his companion and MM. Nydi had work so she couldn't make it. On Saturday I learned how you really shouldn't try to bake cookies. You make a cookie dough and put a part of it in the freezer. Then you forget it there for a year. You take it out and decide to try to bake some cookies out of it. Maybe the dough would still be good? You're impatient so you put the frozen dough in the microwave to defrots. 10 ( Read more... )

I'd feel like going hiking but this is a bad season for that. I don't want to be inside a strange forest when it gets dark after 3PM.
