Wow, I can't believe that I haven't written since May. I missed June all together. I don't think that I've ever before missed a whole month. I have been writing, quite a bit actually, but I just haven't posted anything. This is what happens when I start to fine tune my posts too much, or sencure them too much. The best method, as per my experience, for regularly updating is to just write whatever comes to mind, to not to over-think it, and then to post it on the same day. I need to comb through my draft folder. I can't even recall all the things that are there at the moment.
I'll sum the past two months up for you. I may post something longer on some subjects sometime later.
May:
- Very stressful with the entrance exams looming and everything else that was going on.
- I painted half of the walls on my room. Green. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Photos to come at a later day, possibly.
- Studying for the exams was a total bust, so I skipped the exams. I have a plan for next semester so fear not.
- We held a party to commemorate dad's life on the 10th anniversary of his death. It was a blast.
- My job ended at the end of May. I could've continued there through the Summer, but the commute was really awful, so I'm glad that I didn't.
June:
- I didn't do much for the first couple of weeks of June.
- I hunted for used furniture a lot and planned my to-be closet that I'm going to build on my loft. It's going to be a Lundia-hack with some Ikea parts and other stuff thrown in, and with sliding doors (the desing for those is still open).
- The week before Midsummer we (me, mom, her companion, his daughter, Nydi and MM) spent at a rental cottage at Koli hiking at the national park. Awesome views, lots of mosquitoes, swimming etc.
- The pollen season this Spring was the worst that I've experienced so far. I ate my meds for two months, up until Midsummer, when on some years I've managed with just one month of meds just fine. I've been thinking of maybe starting an Allergen immunotherapy (siedätyshoito) nect Fall, mainly for my fruit allergies, which are tied to my pollen allergy.
- I spent time with my friends. I organized a Greek dinner party for my friends. It was fun and my moussaka came out great. The Pride was also in June.
- Things were very stressful with the whole inheritance mess. In the end we asked some advice from an attorney.
July:
- There was some progress with the inheritance mess. We also took a real estate agent to the cottage for a property valuation (arviokirja).
- We started a new roleplaying campaign with the Changeling The Lost system.
- I've decided to start my Uni studies again next Fall. Well that has been the plan all along, but now I also have an idea what courses I want to take.
The kitten has grown quite a bit. She's an absolute angel when she's sleeping and a real menace often when she's awake. I've had to evacuate some plants from my room to the indoor green house when after she's destroyed half of them, or dropped them to the floor or something. We've been taking her outside on a leash and she absolutely loves that. She's also weirdly dominant for a female kitten. Our other cats are starting to get along better with her, when she's not trying to get them to play with her. I have a feeling that she may become the "leader" of the pack when she grows up.
[EDIT]
I forgot to mention the thing that got me to writing this entry in the first place. I got an invite to Dota 2. Yes! Alas, my Windows broke a couple of months back. It just freezes after starting up. I haven't been able to fix it so I'd have to re-install. Even if I got that done (it hasn't been a pressing concern), there's no certainty that my computer could manage Dota 2. It may be too much for my video card.
