Update on July

I thought that I'd give an update on this past month, just the choice bits in no particular order. We had a choir camp this weekend, which was a total blast. We learned three new songs (I actually learned five as I missed most of the practises in April). I learned that you get pretty out of breath, if you sing in the sauna. We're probably going to hold a second choir camp sometime in the Fall.I've gone to Porkkala with MM and Mary for a day-hike. We barbequed and also swam in the ocean (and played with sea weed). On another trip we went to the Suomenlinna sea fortress for a picnic and since the sea water was a bit cold at that time we went swimming to the Helsinki swimming stadium (Stadikka), which is outdoors. It was my first time visiting the latter. It was okey I guess. I just don't understand why people would wish to swim there when you can go swimming in the lakes, the sea or the rivers, if you want to swim outdoors. Take this lake that we visited in Northern Espoo last week for example. It had a sandy beach and there was a small island a rock throw away from the shore. You could swim around the island and look at the cottages/houses on the lake shore. I know almost a dozen good places to go swimming in natural water in Espoo alone. We had a sushi night at Haku's place a couple of weeks ago. I think that I'm starting to get the hang of making tamagoyaki (it's this rolled up omelet). A week ago I was at the Linnanmäki amusement park with MM to celebrate. I think that we got an overdose of the amusement park because we were both completely wiped out afterwards, but it was so worth it. Kirnu and Kieppi are still my favorites. We did go to the new Ukko two times, even thought the line took 45 minutes each time. It was really scary the first time, but fun on the second time. Rainbow has disappeared. ;_; It was my childhood favorite with Breakdance, which has been gone for years now, but Enterprise has made a come back! Mustekala has moved, it's not gone.

I'm full of tips on what are the best places in each ride. Tulireki is fun in the first cart (like so many others). And you need to experience Kirnu in both directions as it makes a difference. They need to balance the carts and this one time (we went like 5-6 times to Kirnu) these two big guys were on the seats at our back so by the time that the cart got to the up most point of the ride me and MM had our backs to the way that the ride was going and we were almost facing the sky. Freaking awesome that was. XDI've also gone to the cottage. I think that it was about a week after we came home from Ruka. We stayed for four days so it was really relaxing. It was a bit weird to be there with just my mom and her companion, but it all went well. The cottage is the best place to be when the weather is hot. We went swimming several times a day. This one morning I explored the big underwater rock formations by the shoreline as the water was so clear. I swam about two cottages left from our cottage. That's the moment that I remember the best from that cottage trip. I'm also getting fairly good at working the scythe underwater, a skill which isn't really useful outside of the cottage. We took the sailing boat to the sea last week. Speaking of which I need to go there to check the water-inside-the-boat situation sometime soon. I have no intention to actually go sailing on the boat anytime soon. I just got tired of explaining this and just figured that it'd be less work to take the boat to the sea... Blergh, I still don't feel like explaining. Besides there's no need to explain this to you people. What else? I'm probably forgetting something. Somehow writing about what I've been up to doesn't feel quite as satisfying as writing my more introspective posts, but hey I can add something at the end here. I've concluded that I draw energy from nature. Lets say that I'm on a holiday trip with some of my friends and/or family and other asquintances. Lets say the trip lasts a week and that I have to share quarters with a friend. If we're staying at a city, I need to have peaceful time on my own almost daily or I'll become overwhelmed and not enjoy myself. If on the other we're spending time surrounded by nature every day (for example hiking), I'm fine with being surrounded by people 24/7. I've learned this from experience. I became certain of this after our trip to Ruka. Nature recharges my batteries, so to speak. I've instinctively known this as I've often searched for a quiet place surrounded by nature at one point or another on pretty much all the cons where I've been to.I just cleaned the attic today with mom and Orasi. And since the only way to the attic is through my loft it's now full of junk. But we did get rid of some stuff and freed some space, not that is shows, but at least everything should fit inside again. ^^; I'm sure that people have all sort of interesting stuff on their attic. I found out that we have 3-4 boxes full of political literature in our attic. I also found a woolen sweater at the bottom of one box. I liberated it for personal use (I have quite an extensive collection of sweaters).Oh, I almost forgot that I took a nice walk at the shores of Töölö a couple of weeks ago. I walked past Kesäranta, where the prime minister lives, and Mäntyniemi, one of the houses of the president. There are beautiful wooden villas near Seurasaari island. It's a good place for a walk, and there's a park on one side as well. I think that I've inherited my father's tendency to walk around aimlessly in new places. I do it quite often when I'm in the city (Helsinki) by myself.
