Could I just go to bed without doing my Japanese homework? I'm really tired and it's going to take me a minimum of 2-3 hours to do the homework (I am, oh-so very slow). I went to the WG house in Espoo where the modern art museum Emma is with MM and Mary today. We had a lot of fun and goofed around at the toy museum (I clothed a Ken Barbie doll as a gay hippie with dreadlocks (rastat)). That was the last time that I probably saw MM for a while since she's leaving to Germany this weekend for her exchange year.I've been doing a lot of hiking lately. I was at Nuuksio yesterday with a couple of my Uni friends and about 16 Japanese. xp Hello, this is your friendly Nuuksio national park guide, at your service. It was like a day of Japanese immersion, I recalled a lot of grammar structures that I had forgotten while talking and listening to Japanese all day. After that we also went to Antrio's place and a couple of Japanese guys cooked us ramen, which was delicious, and we went through the stuff that we missed while skipping Japanese class that day. xp
Last Satuday me and MM went to Soukka to hike the
Hanikka nature route at Soukka, Espoo. We wanted something different this time and Hanikka is by the sea so it was very pretty and also different from Nuuksio (and you can get there by bus). We hiked for about 4 kilometers of the route and we saw a deer. :o It was only about five meters away from us. It froze when it saw us and I also froze still when I saw it. Then we stared at each other for a few silent second and then the deer ran away. Are bambies supposed to grow so big?
We went hiking with MM also the previous weekend before the last at one of the forests at a walking distance from our house. We tried to find some edible mushrooms, but we're both pretty bad with mushrooms. I recognize three edible wild mushrooms and there were none of those in the forest. We found some mushrooms that MM thought to recognize, but we couldn't find an exact match in a mushroom book at home so we didn't dare to eat them. Eating unknown mushrooms is like playing russian roulet. I'll stick with the ones that I recognize or that someone that I trust to know mushrooms knows about.
Also, if you want to get to bed early, I'd recommend hiking for a couple of hours in nature. It's amazing how tired the combination of excercise and fresh air can make you.[EDIT]
Somehow the homework seems easier than it has the previous weeks. It kinda feels like there's a switch inside my brain and it's been on "Japanese Off" so far, and now it's swtiched to "Japanese On". I know that the information is all there in my brain, but I've just got to remember it. You wouldn't believe how much I had forgotten in a year. I had to look up the kanjis for benkyou (study) the first time that it was in our text book this Fall because I couldn't recognize the kanjis. Now that's pretty bad. -_- But it's all coming back to me, bit by bit. I just wish that it would come back to me a bit faster.
