I think the word to describe today is hot. I don't think I want to know what the temperature is on our patio but it must be well over 30 degrees. I am very glad our ridiculous government has finally made the decision to make masks mandatory in shops as well as on public transport. Anything that may help prevent transmission of the virus is really a no brainer at the moment. I wore a mask for nearly three hours on Friday and got used to it quite quickly even with glasses on, which does ( Read more... )

We didn't rush out to the pub or anywhere else on Saturday, mostly because we don't go to pubs that often anyway and the one nearest to us is closed still. We did order a delivery from our favourite Italian restaurant last Thursday and J wished them luck for their re-opening on Saturday. We had a text this morning from lovely E who we met last year on our Rhine cruise. It reminded me that was this time last year and one of the things I meant to do in lockdown was sort out the photos. Not much to say really. Today has been one of those days when we seem to have had a lot of deliveries. So far the count is a couple of books that J ordered, some plug plants that I had completely forgotten about so had to pot on in a hurry, a Pilates mat for me as I presume if we ever get back to a class that isn't on Zoom we will need our own mats ( Read more... )

This is the "How many firemen does it take to free a fox cub trapped in a wheel?" edition. I did my Pilates class this morning and then was busy moving plants outside when we both noticed a commotion next door. On my next trip upstairs to get more plants I looked out of the window to see what was going on and this little incident was starting up.
