I got my second vaccination on Thursday and in less than two weeks should be at least a bit protected from whatever Covid decides to throw at us next (Indian variant heading our way). J got his first vaccination this afternoon and, while I know it doesn't kick in yet, that is a big relief. Most of my friends have had their first one now too, my brother had his last week and my sister-in-law is getting hers this week. Considering we originally thought we wouldn't get them until end of April/beginning of May it's a big surprise. ( Read more... )

I've just been out for a really invigorating walk in the icy cold air. The sky has that heavy, pearly look that means there may well be snow up there even though it isn't forecast for this area yet. Last year our trusty Christmas tree lights, which I bought in Woolworths in 1984 for £3.99, finally decided that 35 years was long enough and gave up the ghost.
